There are times when life can feel overwhelming, when we feel we need some extra support in order to shoulder what life throws at us. Counselling provides this support, giving you the time and space to develop your awareness, understanding and implement change in your life.
It can be nerve-wracking opening up to someone new, and I aim to make this process as easy as possible for you. I offer a warm, empathic and non-judgemental space for us to explore your concerns together, to hear and value your experiences and work together to improve your wellbeing. This process will be individual to you.
This could be talking through and making sense of painful memories, tackling anxieties and low self-esteem or confidence, overcoming low mood, navigating through relationships and difficult circumstances or developing coping skills during significant periods of change.
My name is Zoe Lavender and I am a qualified integrative counsellor. What this means is I have knowledge of different counselling approaches, so that I can tailor my way of working to suit your individual needs.
I always work in a relational way, which means that building a trusting relationship with you is the most important foundation for our work together, and this can be key to understanding other relational patterns in your life. It also means the sessions are directed by what is important to you.
I have many years experience supporting others in IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) and the Education sector. I am also a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and I adhere to their Ethical Framework. For more information, please see the BACP website.
